How much does an electrician cost in Valencia?
There is a short answer and an honest one. The short answer is a list of starting prices. The honest one explains why two flats on the same street get different figures for the same job — and how to read a quote so the number you approve is the number you pay.
The figures
The numbers most people came here to find.
These are starting prices, not averages. Everything below explains what pushes a job above its starting figure — and what should never push it there.
Credited in full against the repair you approve
The search itself, from — not a guess at the cause
Lighting points from €60, priced the same way
Full rewiring from €2,490, EV charger from €590
How pricing works
Three ways electrical work is priced, and when each one applies.
Call-out pricing covers the visit. Our emergency call-out is €50 and it is credited against the repair, so if you approve the work the visit costs you nothing extra. It buys an electrician at your door within working hours, a diagnosis, and a written figure before anything is dismantled. Fault finding starts at €60 because locating an intermittent fault is skilled work in its own right — you are paying for the search, and the search is what most invoices hide inside a vague labour line.
Per-point pricing covers repetitive installation work. A socket point is from €40, a lighting point from €60. A point is one finished outlet: the cable run, the box, the mechanism, the connection and the test. Counting points is the least arguable way to price a kitchen with nine sockets or a hallway with four downlights, because you can count them yourself before you agree to anything.
Project pricing covers everything with a sequence to it. A panel upgrade starts at €340, an EV charger at €590, a full rewiring at €2,490. These are quoted as a whole because the work has stages that depend on each other, and pricing them by the hour would only transfer the risk of a slow day onto you. The quotation is itemised, so you still see what each stage costs.
Whichever applies, the price is fixed in writing before the work starts and does not change without your written approval. If we open a wall and find something nobody could have predicted, you get a photo, an explanation and a revised figure to accept or refuse — not a larger invoice at the end with an apology attached.
What moves the figure
Why the same job costs more in one flat than in the next.
A socket two metres from an existing circuit is a different job from one that needs a run across the flat. Distance from the panel is usually the single biggest variable in per-point work.
Cutting channels into brick and plaster costs more than clipping a discreet trunking along a skirting, and it brings plaster and paint behind it. Both are legitimate; the choice is yours, and it changes the number.
Hollow partitions take cable easily. Solid brick, poured concrete and the reinforced beams common in 1960s and 70s blocks take longer and blunt more equipment.
New points on a sound, earthed circuit are straightforward. New points on a circuit with no earth mean the honest answer is a circuit renewal, not a socket, and we will say so before you spend the €40.
Included
What the quoted price already contains.
None of the following is an extra. If a quote from anyone else omits them, it is not cheaper — it is smaller.
The itemised quotation
Written before the work, line by line, so you can approve part of it and postpone the rest.
Measured test results
Insulation resistance, earth continuity, differential trip times and voltage drop, written down at handover rather than assumed.
Photo record
Dated photos of every concealed cable route before plaster or ceiling closes over it. Useful the next time somebody drills.
A labelled panel
Every breaker marked with what it actually feeds, checked circuit by circuit rather than copied from the old sticker.
Written guarantee
The workmanship guarantee, in your language, with one named lead electrician responsible from diagnosis to handover.
Comparing quotes
How to compare three quotes without building a spreadsheet.
Line up the scope, not the totals
Read what each quote includes before you look at the bottom line. The higher figure that includes testing and making good is usually the cheaper job once the plasterer has been paid.
Look for the word excluded
Plaster repair, paint, disposal, materials, testing and the return visit are the usual omissions. Ask for them in writing rather than assuming.
Ask who signs the tests
If nobody can tell you which measurements will be taken at the end, the quote covers installation but not proof that it is safe.
Check what happens to surprises
The useful answer is a written revision you approve before work continues. Anything vaguer is a budget, not a price.
Red flags
A quote that will grow later usually shows it early.
One line, one number, no description of the work
A price given over the phone without a single photo
Materials described as approximate or to be confirmed
No mention of testing anywhere in the document
A discount that expires if you take the evening to think
Cash only, no written quotation, no guarantee document

Questions, answered
Electrician prices in Valencia — asked before the first visit.
Is the €50 call-out charged on top of the repair?
No. It is credited in full against the repair you approve, so if the work goes ahead the visit adds nothing to the invoice. If you decide not to proceed, the €50 covers the trip and the diagnosis you keep.
Why does fault finding cost extra when the repair is cheap?
Because the search is the difficult part. An intermittent trip can take an hour of isolating circuits to locate and ten minutes to fix. Charging from €60 for the search is how we avoid pricing the repair as if the diagnosis were free — and how you avoid paying for parts nobody needed.
Can you give me a price without visiting?
For countable work, often yes. Send photos of the panel, the room and the wall, tell us how many points you want and where, and you get an itemised quotation to approve or ignore. Anything intermittent, concealed or structural gets a visit first, because a remote guess would only be a number we would later have to correct.
Do prices change in Torrent, Paterna or Sagunto?
No. The same starting prices apply across all ten municipalities we cover, with no travel surcharge. A socket point in Sagunto is priced exactly as it is in Russafa.
What if the job turns out to be bigger than the quote?
You get a photo, a plain explanation and a revised figure in writing before anything continues. The price fixed in the quotation never changes without your written approval, which is the whole point of fixing it.
Get the figure for your flat.
Send photos of the panel and the room by WhatsApp, or describe the job in the form. You get an itemised written quotation, usually the same working day — and no follow-up calls if you choose to leave it there.
